India going to be the global story on energy, says Union Petroleum Minister, Mr. Hardeep Puri

India is actively focusing on bolstering its energy production, encompassing both conventional and renewable sources, with projections indicating that the country is poised to emerge as a pivotal growth story in the energy sector by the conclusion of this decade. Union Petroleum Minister, Mr. Hardeep Puri emphasized the escalating domestic production levels, the promising trajectory of the biofuel sector, and the nation's proactive stance on advancing technologies such as compressed biogas and green hydrogen. His vision positions India as a frontrunner in energy sector growth by 2030.

The ongoing India Energy Week 2024 has garnered international attention, spotlighting India's energy narrative and notable strides in promoting green energy solutions. Mr. Puri highlighted the event's evolution into an annual flagship gathering, witnessing a substantial rise in participation and showcasing diverse energy products and innovative technologies. As the four-day event unfolds in Goa, Mr. Puri also shared updates on ONGC's recent crude oil discovery off the coast of Andhra Pradesh, with expectations set for a daily production capacity ranging between 45,000 to 50,000 barrels, scheduled to commence by May-June this year.
