In a groundbreaking achievement, Indian single malt sales have reportedly outpaced global competitors, marking a significant milestone, per early estimates by the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies (CIABC). The agency's projections indicate that Indian single malts comprised nearly 53% of the total sales in 2023, as reported by Times of India on Monday.
According to CIABC Chief Vinod Giri, domestic brands witnessed an impressive growth of approximately 23% in 2023, surpassing the 11% growth observed by imported brands. The total sales of single malts, estimated at around 6,75,000 cases (each of nine Liters), saw Indian-origin makers contributing 3,45,000 cases to this notable achievement.
