Lightrock India has agreed to invest US$ 15 million in the in-patient psychiatric facility Sukoon Healthcare in exchange for a controlling interest in the facility.

The investment, which is the largest domestically so far in the field of mental health, will aid in the development of a large therapeutic behavioural health platform.

The money will be used by Sukoon to scale to multiple locations, expand specialised services, and collaborate with other providers.

Sukoon, founded in February 2020 by Mr. Vidit Bahri and Mr. Kanishk Gupta, provide patients with evidence-based care by arranging a multidisciplinary team of skilled psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, counsellors, and vocational therapists. This approach guarantees that every patient receives individualised, comprehensive care.

Sukoon provided inpatient and outpatient care for more than 11,000 patients last year who had a variety of conditions. As per the first phase of a pan-Indian programme of growth, the organisation is extending its services to Bengaluru and Mumbai.
