BHEL starts NTPC's 800-MW Koldam hydro power plant

New Delhi : Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited(BHEL) has successfully commissioned all four units of NTPC's 800 MW Koldam hydro power project in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. NTPC's 4x200 MW Koldam Hydro Electric Project (HEP) is expected to generate 3,054 GWH annually. BHEL was able to commission this project in a short span of 75 days from the first unit being commissioned on 30 March, 2015. Other than Koldam, BHEL is executing three other hydro projects of NTPC - Tapovan Vishnugad HEP (4x130 MW), Lata Tapovan HEP (3x57 MW) and Rammam Stage-III HEP (3x40 MW).
