Government of India approves two road projects for Srinagar and Jammu

Srinagar: The Government of India has approved two ring road projects in Srinagar and Jammu to aid in reduction of traffic congestion in these cities. The two ring road projects will cost Rs 3500 crore (US$ 551 million). According to Jammu and Kashmir Roads and Buildings Minister Mr Altaf Bukhari, the road-widening would be completed in this vital area within two months as most of the chronic bottlenecks have been already removed. He also stated that upgradation of Srinagar-Jammu highway is being expedited with the likely commissioning to be achieved next year.
