KEC International wins orders worth Rs1,412 crore

Mumbai: RPG group company KEC International Ltd on Wednesday said that it has bagged orders worth Rs.1,412 crore in its transmission and distribution (T&D) and cables businesses.

The T&D business received orders worth Rs.1,128 crore while the cables business got orders worth Rs.284 crore. The orders were received from different geographies including such as India, Africa and America, the firm said in a notice to BSE.

Within India, the company won orders from Power Grid Co. Ltd, state utilities of Karnataka and West Bengal, as well as private sector companies such as Sterlite Power Grid Ventures Ltd.

The biggest order in India is for a 400 KV transmission line from Vasanthapura to Kelagina Kanive in Karnataka, from Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. The order is worth Rs.543 crore.

The firm also won T&D orders worth Rs.83 crore in Africa, while KEC’s American subsidiary, SAE Towers, won orders worth Rs.213 crore in US, Brazil, Mexico and Chile.

The firm also said that its cables business has won power and telecom orders worth Rs.284 crore.

At 9.30am, shares of KEC were trading at Rs.96.75, up by 6.91% on the BSE, while the benchmark Sensex was trading at 27,444.27, up by 0.15%.
