In February, company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) to collaborate on maritime projects and composites, reinforcing India’s maritime capabilities.

BEML Ltd. secures significant order of Rs. 250 crore (US$ 30.19 million) from northern coalfields.

In January 2024, BEML Limited bagged orders from Ministry of Defence for supply of Mechanical Minefield Marking Equipment Mark-II valued at approximately Rs. 329.87 crore (US$ 39.57 million). 

BEML Limited successfully designed, developed, and upgraded products across business verticals – Mining & Construction, Defence and Rail & Metro, throughout 2022-23. Over 75% of BEML’s business was generated through in-house R&D developed products and the company submitted a total of 105 IPRs for registration, including 69 patents, 16 designs, 12 copyrights, and 8 trademarks, surpassing the target of 96.

In October 2023, India’s ambitious rail project, Vande Bharat sleeper trainset commenced its maiden prototype production at Bangalore complex of BEML Ltd.

In August 2023, Mr. Shantanu Roy assumed charge as the next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of BEML Limited.

In April 2023, BEML handed over the first rake of indigenously built Rail Grinding Machine (RGM96) to M/s. LORAM MAINTENANCE BY WAY, USA from its manufacturing facility located in KGF Rail Coach Unit II.

BEML Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) led SPV, who have been shortlisted for constructing the Bahrain Metro Rail Project Phase-1.

Dr. G. Jawahar appointed as Director (HR) BEML Limited.

BEML signs contract with Coal India for Rs. 118 crore (US$ 14.15 million).

BEML observes 'Swachhta Pakhwada' to spread awareness about cleanliness, posters and banners are placed at various strategic locations in and around the Factories, Complexes and Residential Townships.

In June 2021, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) and NITI Aayog approved a proposal for incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary of BEML Ltd. for the demerger of surplus lands and assets.

In line with the Indian government’s ‘Self-reliant India’ initiative, in May 2021, BEML introduced a mechanical minefield marking equipment (MMME - MKII), an 'Atmanirbharta' (self-reliant) product.

In March 2021, BEML secured a contract for the supply of construction equipment from Cameroon and Bangladesh. This was a major boost to exports under the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

In January 2021, BEML secured a contract for supplying High Mobility Vehicles from the Ministry of Defence.

BEML LIMITED has signed a MoU with RITES Limited, a renowned Transport Infrastructure Consultancy and Engineering firm, to jointly investigate and bid for prospects in the fields of metro systems and rolling stock export.

BEML successfully tested the indigenous Pinaka multi-launch artillery rocket system at the integrated test range in Chandipus (off the coast of Odisha) in November. Pinaka, with an enhanced strike range of 45-60 kms has already been designated for induction to six new regiments currently using Pinaka with 35-40 kms range.

Company designed and developed products such as BE1000-1 Hydraulic Excavator, BE210 Hydraulic Excavator, BD155 Bulldozer with CLSS hydraulic system and AI-based products viz. predictive maintenance of mining equipment through AI-based Big Data analytics and machine learning algorithms and sleep/fatigued operator alert system on mining equipment.

Signed an MoU signed with M/s. HEC to meet the mining industry's demand for goods such as rope shovel & walking dragline in mining and construction businesses.

Indigenously designed metro train sets were successfully tested.

R&D test facilities were upgraded with addition of a salt spray chamber, abrasive cutting machine, 50t actuator high pressure power pack, 25 KN UTM air screw compressor, etc.

R&D Centre designed, developed and launched upgraded version of 100T Dumper (BH 100-1).

The global presence of BEML increased to 63 countries, with exports to Taiwan and Gabon.

Inaugurated BEML aerospace manufacturing division at Mysore with horizontal machining centre facilities at Mysore Complex.

Signed an MoU with Karnataka Government to establish another manufacturing complex in Bengaluru.

Introduced R&D's innovative product, Load Haul Dumper (LHD) - BL15, and exhibited in the IMME – Kolkata.

Metro railway business started with the manufacturing and supply of hi-tech stainless-steel metro coaches to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

The company shares were listed at the stock exchanges at Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Chennai.

Converted into a public limited company.

Set up an engine division at Mysore to manufacture heavy-duty diesel engines.

Set up a ‘Hydraulics and Powerline’ division and a R&D centre in the Kolar Gold Field (KGF) facility.

Established the ‘Dump Truck’ division at Mysore.

Partnered with Komatsu Limited Japan for technological know-how in a wide range of mining and construction equipment.

Incorporated on May 11, 1964, as a public sector undertaking with the name Bharat Earth Movers Ltd.
