In line with the Indian government’s ‘Self-reliant India’ initiative, in May 2021, BEML introduced a mechanical minefield marking equipment (MMME - MKII), an 'Atmanirbharta' (self-reliant) product.

BEML successfully tested the indigenous Pinaka multi-launch artillery rocket system at the integrated test range in Chandipus (off the coast of Odisha) in November. Pinaka, with an enhanced strike range of 45-60kms has already been designated for induction to six new regiments currently using Pinaka with 35-40kms range.
