Started in 1981, NIIT Ltd today is a global leader in skills and talent development, having operations in more than 35 countries. The company is headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana. Until FY19, the company served over 36 million learners through its three lines of business, which include school learning, corporate learning and skills and careers. After several years of growth, it also started the NIIT University in Rajasthan in 2009 with the aim of making it a hub of innovation and learning.
NIIT Ltd earned revenues of Rs. 303.5 crore (US$ 34.95million) in FY24.

In August 2023, NIIT Learning Systems Limited (NIIT MTS), which offers Managed Training Services to Fortune 1000 and Global 500 corporations across North America and Europe, marked its debut on Indian stock exchanges through its listing on BSE and NSE. In August 2023, RPS Consulting Private Limited, an NIIT Limited subsidiary, was awarded the 2023 Google Cloud Training Partner of the Year Award for the Asia Pacific region. In July 2023, NIIT Limited has been recognized as a Best Education Brand of 2023 at the 6th Edition of The Economic Times Best Education Brands awards and summit. NIIT Ltd completes the demerger of Corporate Learning Business into NIIT Learning Systems Ltd. In February 2023, NIIT was awarded the Gold for Excellence in Employee Rewards and Recognition Strategy at ET Human Capital Awards 2023. |

In August 2021, NIIT Institute of Finance Banking and Insurance (NIIT IFBI), a subsidiary of NIIT Limited, won the 'Training & Education Excellence Award' at the Quantic India 3rd Annual BFSI Excellence Awards 2021. In July 2021, NIIT Limited entered a partnership with Sushant University to offer its upcoming batches of Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor’s in Technology (B Tech) degrees in Computer Science specialisations with Banking & Finance and StackRoute–Full Stack Product engineering respectively. In July 2021, NIIT Institute of Finance Banking and Insurance (NIIT IFBI), a subsidiary of NIIT Limited, and Axis Bank launched a FinTech Professional Programme under the Axis Bank-NIIT Digital Banking Academy. The course is designed to build future-ready fintech professionals for Axis Bank. In June 2021, NIIT announced programmes in cloud computing & cybersecurity to meet the demand for job roles in the digital sector. NIIT in partnership with Nokia launched a 5G online certification programme along with Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). |

In November 2020, Randstad India entered a partnership with NIIT Limited to launch ‘Randstad Skilling Academy’. In September 2020, StackRoute, an NIIT venture, introduced programmes in data engineering to meet the enterprise big data requirement in the industry. In September 2020, NIIT Nagpur Center completes 30 years. On the occasion, it introduced virtual Future Ready programs for students through NIIT digital. NIIT Nagpur also launches an Employment Enhancement Program for college students to help prepare them for placement opportunities.
