S. Chand is a leading educational content company in India with a long history. It was established in 1970 and now has presence in all three segments namely – early learning, K-12 and higher education with K-12 providing around 80% of its revenues. The company has 58 branches and marketing offices and extensive distribution system across India. Its printed products are also exported to more than 19 countries and digital products are exported to five countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and other parts of the world. Total standalone revenue of the company touched Rs. 49.53 crore (US$ 5.6 million) in Q2 FY26.

In December 2025, S Chand Group emphasised AI-driven data licensing and partnerships with technology companies as a key growth driver, alongside its core K–12 publishing business, which contributes nearly 90% of revenues, highlighting the continued importance of traditional publishing supported by digital integration. The Board of Directors, in its meeting on August 13, 2025, approved investing up to Rs. 35 crore (US$ 4.10 million) in one or more tranches for a potential acquisition in the test preparation segment, with detailed disclosures to follow upon execution of definitive agreements. |

In December 2021, S Chand And Company Limited agreed to acquire a minority stake in edtech startup iNeuron Intelligence Private Limited. In July 2021, S Chand and Company teamed up with Testbook Edu Solution to create a next generation 'SmartBook' to assist students preparing for competitive tests for government jobs, particularly those from rural areas of the country. S. Chand and Company Limited launched its web and mobile app for pre-schools under the brand name, ‘SmartK’. This mobile learning application service to the domestic market is multi-functional in nature, giving the user/teacher the capability to carry out any task for imparting education and maintaining a virtual classroom |
