Hero MotoCorp Limited (formally Hero Honda Motors Limited) is the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers. It is present in South Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Hero MotoCorp was the first Indian two-wheeler company to establish a manufacturing plant in Latin America. Its key products include two-wheelers up to 350cc and spare parts.
The company’s electric mobility segment
Hero MotoCorp entered the electric mobility segment in 2021 with the launch of its first electric scooter, the Hero Electric AE-47. The company emphasized innovation and sustainability, expanding its EV lineup with models like the Hero Electric Optima and Nyx. The company is expanding its EV ecosystem collaborating with Ather energy. Over the years, the company focused on improving battery performance, expanding its charging network, and increasing production capacity.

In November 2021, Hero MotoCorp partnered with Gilera Motors Argentina, to strengthen and expand its operations in South America, as per its aggressive global business strategy. In September 2021, Hero Electric announced plans to expand production capacity at its facility in Ludhiana, Punjab, to >5 lakh units by March 2022, up from the existing capacity of 1 lakh units per year. Appointed Mr. Ravi Avalur to lead Harley India’s operations. |

Hero MotoCorp infused additional capital of Rs. 84 crore (US$ 11 million) in Ather Energy, one of the leading Indian start-ups focused on two-wheeler electric mobility. With the latest round of investment, Hero MotoCorp owns 34.58% stake in the EV manufacturer. Hero MotoCorp launched eSHOP which provides a seamless digital buying experience to its customers. The platform enables the customers to buy the two-wheeler of their choice sitting at home through an easy and transparent process.
