Voltas Ltd. is part of the Tata Group and the largest air conditioning company in India. It was established in 1954 and is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with regional offices across major Indian cities. The company operates in the following three segments unitary cooling products, electromechanical projects & services and engineering products & services.
The company has one of the largest distribution networks in India with more than 15,000 touchpoints in FY20. In consumer durables, the company manufactures room air conditioners and air coolers. It was a leader in the room ACs segment with a 24.2% market share in FY20, whereas it held the second position in air coolers.
VoltBek is a 50:50 joint venture company (JVC) between Voltas Limited and Arçelik. With this JV, Voltas entered the home appliances market.

In November 2022, Voltas entered into a technology license agreement with Denmark’s Vestfrost Solutions to develop, manufacture, sell and service medical refrigeration and vaccine storage equipment including ice lined refrigerators, vaccine freezers and ultra-low temperature freezers to the India market.
In Madodhar Village, Waghodia, Gujarat, Voltas opens its first Solid Waste Management plant.
In January, Voltas and Voltas Beko have launched an exclusive, one-of-a-kind Experience Zone in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, to suit the growing aspirations of Mumbai consumers for technologically advanced and futuristic Voltas and Voltas Beko products.

In September 2021, Voltas launched an exclusive Online Web Store – www.voltaslounge.com – for online buyers.
In April 2021, Voltas launched its first ‘Brand Shop’ in Odisha to meet the rising demand from consumers for Voltas and Voltas Beko products, including air coolers, refrigerators, water dispensers, air conditioners, air purifiers, water coolers, commercial refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves and dishwashers.
Votas launched a new range of inverter air conditioners in India. It also launched a split air conditioners, window air conditioners, and cassettes and tower air conditioners.

Voltas launched its range of ultraviolet light (UVC) based surface disinfectant solutions for cinema halls to ensure the safety of masses.
In October 2020, Voltas Limited launched the new Voltas PureAir AC, a UK-based split inverter AC. VoltBek Home Appliances opened its first manufacturing facility in India
