The cargo handling capacity at the 12 major ports of India increased from 871 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) in 2015 to 1,617 MMT in 2023.
Kamarajar Port Limited (Erstwhile & Ennore Port Limited) is one of the 12 major ports of India and is situated in the state of Tamil Nadu. Different from the other ports which are run as trusts, it is incorporated as a company. The company currently has a total cargo handling capacity of 38 MMTPA.

- Total income stood at Rs. 1,009.23 crore (US$ 122.02 million) by the end of FY23.
