1,19,224 claims paid under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) scheme

The Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) scheme is available to persons of all income levels who have a bank/post office account and are between the ages of 18 and 70.
This was mentioned by Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Kisanrao Karad in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha.
As of June 28, 2023, 1,19,224 claims had been settled by insurance companies since the start of the programme. As of June 28, 2023, the total number of claims rejected by insurance companies since the inception of the scheme is 30,549.
