17.88 lakh new workers added under ESI Scheme in the month of April, 2023

Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) provisional payroll data show that 17.88 lakh new employees were hired in April 2023. In the month of April 2023, around 30,249 new establishments were registered and brought under the social security umbrella of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation, ensuring increased coverage.
Data clearly shows that more jobs have been created for the nation's youth, as out of the total 17.88 lakh employees added during the month, 8.37 lakh employees are under the age of 25 years, accounting for the majority of new registrations, making up 47% of the total employees.
According to a gender analysis of payroll data, the total enrolment of net female members in April 2023 was 3.53 lakh. According to the data, a total of 63 transgender employees have been registered under the ESI Scheme in the month of April 2023. It demonstrates that ESIC is committed to providing its advantages to all segments of society.
