In a written response to a question in the Lok Sabha today, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries Mr. Krishan Pal Gurjar listed the list of pilot projects for charging infrastructure and projects for technology development that was approved under Phase-I of the First Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME)-India Scheme.
As of 15th February 2023, the highest number of e-buses sanctioned and deployed under FAME India Scheme Phase-II was in Maharashtra with 830 sanctioned and 682 delivered, followed by Gujrat with 700 sanctioned and 397 delivered, Uttar Pradesh with 600 sanctioned and 565 delivered and Delhi with 400 e-buses sanctioned and 380 delivered. The total number of e-buses sanctioned is 3,738 out of which 2,435 were delivered to their respective states.
FAME India Programme Phase-II released US$ 4 million (Rs. 33 crores) as the first instalment of funding as mobilisation advance to BMTC, Bangalore.
Moreover, a total number of 26 projects are approved by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) under FAME India Scheme.
