On Monday, the Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) and India Innovation Hub announced a collaboration with EaseMyTrip, an Indian online travel company, and HSBC, a UK-based investment banking firm, to help 200 Indian entrepreneurs present their business ideas and innovations to global investors at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Some of India's greatest innovators and startups will get the chance to interact with their peers and key stakeholders at DSO and Expo 2020 Dubai as part of this collaborative project. On the occasion, Aman Puri, Consul General of India in Dubai, stated.

The India Innovation Hub is an initiative of the India Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, and it will include over 500 Indian entrepreneurs. The project provides a forum for promoting Indian start-ups and innovators by exposing them to the global investor community via B2B events. Puri claims that the India Innovation Hub contributed significantly to the Startup ecosystem by displaying over 240 startups at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Fintech, AI, cybersecurity, health, and tech-enabled platforms in major priority industries will be the focus areas for selecting businesses. Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO)'s wholly-owned innovation centre and coworking space, the Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus (DTEC), made the announcement, which is the largest of its type in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) area. The Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority is a government-owned free zone in Dubai that supports contemporary technology-based enterprises while also integrating them into a master-planned city.

Dr Puri, Deputy Commissioner-General for India at Expo 2020 Dubai, Ghanim Al Falasi, Senior Vice President, Technology and Entrepreneurship, DTEC; Nishant Pitti, Co-Founder, EaseMyTrip.com; and Nabeel Al Bloushi, Managing Director, Regional Head Middle East/North Africa  (MENA) & Turkey, Markets and Securities Services, Corporate Sales - HSBC were present to announce the partnership.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced January 16 to be National Start-up Day, describing start-ups as the "backbone" of the new India.

Pitti believes that Indian startups can significantly contribute to the UAE's ecosystem. With over 40 Indian start-ups reaching the Unicorn Club in 2021, India has emerged as an innovation engine with the world's third-largest startup ecosystem. The Tech & New Age Business area, often known as Startups, is a significant target market for HSBC India, according to Hitendra Dave, General Manager and CEO of HSBC India.

Over 60,000 DPIIT-registered start-ups from 628 districts across all 28 states and 8 union territories make up India's start-up ecosystem. The Global Innovation Index (GII) places India in the top 50 countries, and it is the world's fifth most startup-friendly country (leading in Asia).

Over 40 new unicorns were born in India, bringing the total number of unicorns to 85, the statement added, embodying the real spirit of a self-reliant India despite the great hurdles faced by the worldwide epidemic.
