The Startup Maha Kumbh 2025, India's largest startup event, will be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from April 3, 2025, to April 5, 2025. The event, organised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), will witness participation from 3,000 startups, twice the number from the previous edition. It will also see representation from 64 countries, reflecting India’s growing influence in the global startup ecosystem. A Rs. 50 crore (US$ 5.9 million) grant challenge has been announced for startups and mentorship opportunities. Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal, will inaugurate the event, featuring industry masterclasses, networking opportunities, and dedicated pavilions with exhibit areas twice the size of last year’s event.
A significant highlight will be the participation of tribal entrepreneurs, with 45 plus startups, including those incubated at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), showcasing their innovations. The event aims to boost India's startup ecosystem by fostering public-private partnerships and attracting global investors. With India emerging as the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, the Startup Maha Kumbh will serve as a platform to showcase the country’s innovation-driven growth, positioning it as a global leader in entrepreneurship.
