30 crore Ayushman Cards created under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana

The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri - Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 30 crore Ayushman cards. Implemented by the National Health Authority (NHA), this flagship scheme aims to provide health coverage of US$ 6,032 (Rs. 5 lakh) per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to 12 crore beneficiary families.

Creating Ayushman cards is a pivotal aspect of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri - Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), and concerted efforts have been consistently undertaken to ensure every beneficiary possesses one. The scheme has now created 30 crore Ayushman cards, with over 16.7 crore cards generated in the last two financial years alone. In the ongoing fiscal year 2024, over 7.5 crore Ayushman cards have been created, equating to approximately 181 cards every minute.

Ayushman card creation has been integrated into the on-spot services provided during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, initiated on November 15, 2023. This campaign has significantly expedited card creation at the grassroots level, with more than 2.43 crore Ayushman cards created during the Yatra. Additionally, the Ayushman Bhava campaign, launched on September 17, 2023, has contributed to creating over 5.6 crore Ayushman cards.
