5G Rollout: India to become first nation to deliver indigenous 5G, says Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mr. Rajeev Chandrashekhar

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mr. Rajeev Chandrashekhar, stated on August 2 that India is currently among the top countries and one of the first to deliver indigenous 5G. Aside from that, the Minister stated that India is moving forward with a 5G network that is planned and constructed in India.

The equipment we are now employing for 5G has never been utilised before. The country's 2G, 3G, and 4G networks were always imported from outside. Today, thanks to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s leadership, we are receiving Rs. 1.5 lakh crore (US$ 19.04 billion) from the government, he added. Among other things, He stated that the spectrum's newest generation 5G network would be made available to residents with equipment manufactured in India, which is a significant milestone for India. He praised Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's Digital India initiative. He stated that he was present during the announcement of Digital India in 2015 and never had a clue that India would make such strides.
