70 mn rural families given piped water connection in 3 years: Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi announced that his government has supplied piped water connections to seven crore rural families over the previous three years under the Jal Jeevan Mission, helping the country reach the landmark of ten crore such connections in villages. He was speaking via video link at a Goa government event commemorating 100% piped water supply coverage in the state's rural areas.
He stated that when he announced the Jal Jeevan Mission, there were 16 crore rural families who relied on alternative sources of water. He said that the success of the Jal Jeevan Mission is due to people's engagement, stakeholder collaboration, political will, and efficient use of resources.
