The Uttar Pradesh Government has received investment proposals worth US$ 150 billion (Rs. 12 trillion) from domestic and international investors, four weeks in advance, ahead of the Uttar Pradesh global investors summit (GIS) next month. The state has achieved 70% of the proposed investment against the GIS target of US$ 210 billion (Rs. 17 trillion) fixed by Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath.

The global investment proposals worth US$ 85 billion (Rs. 7 trillion) were received during the roadshows in 16 countries, whereas the domestic investment proposals of around US$ 60 billion (Rs. 5 trillion) were collected during the Chief Minister’s visit to Mumbai to commence the domestic roadshows. As per a senior UP government official, a group of Indian industrialists and business leaders from groups like Tata Sons, Adani, Godrej, Birla, Parle, etc, met the Chief Minister during his visit. In his interaction with domestic industrialists, investors, bankers, and entrepreneurs; Mr. Yogi Adityanath called upon them to invest in UP for realising the vision of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to make India a US$ 5 trillion economy in the next few years.
