86% Indians hope to access most govt services online in 5 yrs: Deloitte

According to Digital Smart: Advancing digital government for citizens in the Asia-Pacific’, research conducted by Deloitte and unveiled by enterprise software provider VMware, 86% of Indian respondents anticipate that during the next five years, the majority of government services will be accessible online.

By 2025, there are projected to be more than 900 million internet users in the region (Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Japan, and South Korea), increasing the need for governments to invest in digital services.

According to the research, utilisation of in-person government services have decreased by half across APAC countries in the last two years, and 77% of people now receive government services primarily through digital platforms.
