The Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP) of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has now added nine new Technology Centres to its existing network of 18 across the country. In addition to establishing and operating these nine new Technology Centres, the government also allocated Rs. 200 Crore (approximately $24 million) for 2025-26, demonstrating its continued commitment to provide technical training, industry-oriented skills, and to promote technology adoption within Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In 2024-25, the new Technology Centres, along with the existing Technology Centres, trained over 3.28 lakh individuals as MSME entrepreneurs, employees, and youth seeking more advanced vocational skills.
The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector's ability to gain capabilities in advanced technology areas is significantly enriched by Technology Centres. These Technology Centres have launched a series of innovative training programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT), bridging the skills gap between what MSMEs need and what the industry offers. They are also providing training modules that integrate technology experience with MSMEs through short- and long-term training curricula. The launch of this TCSP program is an essential step towards creating a future-ready workforce that can utilise cutting-edge technologies to increase productivity, creativity, and competitiveness. In conjunction with strengthening the skills infrastructure for MSMEs and creating ongoing upskilling opportunities, the TCSP has helped advance India's MSME ecosystem and increase the sector's contributions to national economic growth.
