An agreement has been reached between Adani Group and Embraer to produce aircraft in India. This is the first time that regional jets will be manufactured in India. The partners intend to create manufacturing capabilities for regional jets, and they are also helping India achieve its goal of enhancing its manufacturing capacity in the aerospace and aviation sector. This agreement also supports India’s overall strategy to develop the capability to manufacture products in high-tech industries such as aviation and to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers by increasing domestic production of these goods.
According to the report, Embraer is a global leader in the manufacturing of regional aircraft and has extensive experience in the design and production of such aircraft. The Adani Group has a large presence in the aviation infrastructure and services market. This partnership will create an environment in which the aerospace industry can train skilled workers and develop supply chains through technology transfer. Overall, this partnership reflects a trend of increasing interest from global aerospace manufacturers in leveraging India’s potential as a manufacturing centre, while also supporting India’s goals of becoming self-reliant in manufacturing through the Industrial Development Strategy (IDP).
