India Post is accelerating its digital transformation journey through Advanced Postal Technology 2.0 (APT 2.0), a next-generation platform designed to modernize postal operations and strengthen last-mile service delivery. During a detailed review of the initiative, Minister of State for Communications Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani highlighted that the platform is enabling branch offices to access real-time intelligence for analysing local demand, monitoring operational performance and making faster, data-driven decisions. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) is helping India Post process large volumes of operational data, automate routine processes and improve service outcomes across the postal network. The system is also supporting more efficient workflows and enhancing responsiveness at the field level.
The government stated that APT 2.0 is delivering measurable benefits such as faster service delivery, reduced manual intervention, improved decision-making, and enhanced customer satisfaction. The initiative is part of India Post’s broader digital transformation strategy aimed at building a more agile, technology-driven and future-ready postal ecosystem. Officials also emphasized that the government’s digital push is ensuring a robust and secure architecture with stronger cybersecurity measures to support trusted public service delivery. By converting branch-level data into actionable intelligence, India Post is improving operational reliability and strengthening its role as a key logistics and connectivity network across urban and rural India.
