Agnipath is a game changer in making the armed forces future-ready: Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi addressed the first batch of Agniveers and stated that Agnipath, which is a short-term military employment scheme, is a transformative policy and a game changer in strengthening the armed forces and making them future-ready.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Agniveers on being the pioneers of this path-breaking scheme and added that the young Agniveers will make the armed forces more youthful and tech-savvy. The spirit of Agniveers is reflective of the bravery of the armed forces which has always helped in keeping the flag of the nation flying high, he said. He further stated the experience they’ll acquire through this opportunity, will be a source of pride for life.
Furthermore, he expressed happiness for the contribution of women Agniveers who are adding pride to the naval forces and said that the scheme will further empower women. Mr. Narendra Modi stated that he is looking forward to seeing women Agniveers in all three forces and cited examples of the women who are leading the armed forces like the women posted in Siachen and those piloting modern fighter planes.
