According to a report, Air India and airBaltic have formed a codeshare agreement. The objective of this agreement is to improve connections between the air transportation networks of India and the Baltic countries. Passengers will benefit from having greater access to a wider range of destinations in Northern Europe through the hubs of both airlines that participate in this arrangement. In addition, the codeshare will allow customers travelling to and from these regions to have greater flexibility in terms of their overall travel itinerary and, therefore, be able to coordinate their travel plans more easily.
Both airlines’ long-term strategy of increasing their connectivity across the globe and expanding their footprint will also be accomplished through the new code-share agreement. Air India intends to strengthen its connection with the developing route network of airBaltic, while airBaltic will gain better access to the ever-increasing number of travelers who travel to and from India. Through enhanced cooperation, it is expected that this agreement will support increased tourism, corporate travel, and cultural exchange between countries within the Baltic region and India. Industry watchers believe that agreements like this one result in increased passenger traffic, more varied route choices, and improved experiences for passengers. Ultimately, the agreement demonstrates the importance of developing international partnerships in the airline industry to develop economic relationships and facilitate cross-border travel demand between countries across the globe.
