Telecommunications company Bharti Airtel has partnered with Google to enhance user safety by introducing advanced spam protection features in Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging. The collaboration integrates Airtel’s network intelligence with Google’s messaging platform to strengthen protection against spam, fraud, and malicious communication. The initiative aims to provide a secure and reliable messaging experience, particularly for Android users using the Google Messages app. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and telecom-grade data insights, the partnership seeks to address rising concerns over spam and fraudulent messages in the digital ecosystem.
The enhanced system includes features such as sender verification, real-time monitoring of business messages, and improved filtering of suspicious content. It also ensures compliance with user preferences such as the Do Not Disturb (DND) feature, categorising messages into promotional or transactional categories, and applying appropriate restrictions. In addition, AI-based tools help identify suspicious senders and limit their messaging capabilities. The initiative supports the development of a trusted digital communication ecosystem, improving user protection and strengthening confidence in digital messaging services.
