Almost 23 crore Ayushman Bharat health accounts created so far, says govt

According to information provided to the Lok Sabha, over 23 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) numbers 14-digit health Ids have so far been generated, with Andhra Pradesh producing the most (3.21 crore), followed by Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar stated in a written response to a query that ABHA numbers may be produced for people of all ages with a KYC (know your customer) verification. A total of 229,764,327 ABHA numbers will be generated till July 15, 2022.
The government has started the ABDM with the goal of establishing the National Digital Health ecosystem by developing an online platform that enables the exchange of health data in order to generate a citizen's electronic health record (EHR). To facilitate data interoperability across digital health systems, three essential ABDM registries are created: the ABHA number/health ID, the Health Professional Registry (HPR), and the Health Facility Registry (HFR).
