In anticipation of higher demand over the holiday season, the world's largest e-commerce retailer, Amazon India, has announced plans to expand its sorting and delivery network in the Pune region with a new 1.25 lakh sq ft "Sort Center" opened in Mahalunge in the Khed taluka.

A 15,000 sq ft delivery facility, which Amazon recently revealed, will aid in its last-mile delivery system in the city's southern and western suburbs, including Katraj, Yewalewadi, and Bibwewadi, among others.

With the addition of the new facility, Maharashtra now has six similar facilities with a combined area of five lakh square feet.
