Haldiram's, an Indian savoury and confectionary major, has signed up for Amazon's global selling program to venture into e-tailing of its delicacies in the United States, as per the company statement.

"We want to further expand our presence amongst our global customers. Collaborating with Amazon's global selling program allows us direct access to the American market," said Haldiram's snacks managing director Mr. Pankaj Agarwal.

This agreement with Amazon will help the company to expand and make its way in the American market and reach to millions of new buyers.
The United States accounts around 40 per cent of the company's export.

"Through the global selling program, we offer them (Haldiram's) end-to-end solutions for quality made in India products among global consumers," said Amazon India global trade head Mr. Abhijit Kamra.

Mr. Kamra added that Amazon's global selling program facilitates e-commerce exports which will also provide access to global customers.

Amazon introduced its global selling program in India in 2015, which, currently, accounts for cumulative exports of US$ 1 billion.

According to Amazon, nearly 50,000 Indian manufacturers, brands and traders are currently making use of its global e-commerce exports channel to sell 150 million products, across 12 Amazon international marketplaces.

Haldiram's, which started as a small entity in Bikaner, Rajasthan in 1937, is now selling its products in more than 80 countries, across the globe.
