The analysts are expecting the upcoming Union Budget to focus on job creation. The primary focus of the Budget is likely to be on job creation and investment-driven growth.

The real estate sector may get a boost with some announcements to expand the current income tax benefit for housing, Mr. B. Gopkumar, Managing Director and Chief Economic Officer, Axis Securities said. Measures to stimulate rural spending and infrastructure development are likely to be part of the budget, he added. FMCG, Manufacturing, MSME, and Banking are a few sectors that may see action.

Mr. Anmol Das, Head of Research, Teji Mandi expects the finance ministry to present a much expansionary budget with a major focus on infrastructure, manufacturing, defence, and export-driven businesses. He added that the ministry may give some respite in the tax slabs and exemption limits for direct taxes.

FY24 Budget expansion is likely to be a moderate one, with the economy having stabilised, another industry expert said. The government will continue to focus on CapEx and will see subsidy bills moving back to pre-Covid levels in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) size, he added.
