The Andhra Pradesh government has transferred 480 acres of land located in both Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts to Adani Infra (India). Adani Infra (India) is considered the leading “notified partner” of Raiden Infotech India, a subsidiary of Google, as a direct result of Raiden’s request to set up 1 GW of AI Data Centre(s) in Andhra Pradesh. This investment in digital infrastructure is among the most significant upcoming investments in India. Raiden had previously identified several firms as notified partners eligible to participate in the development process and related incentives, including Adani Infra, AdaniConneX, Adani Power, Bharti Airtel, Nxtra Data, and Nxtra Vizag Ltd. The total investment that Raiden intends to make in Andhra Pradesh under the phased implementation model is ₨. 87500 Crores (US$ 9.74 Billion) and over the next several years will receive an estimated amount of ₨. 22000 Crores (US$ 2.45 Billion) in terms of incentives.
The new data centre will meet the exact specifications of other global locations that host Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and will adhere to the highest quality standards for design, construction, and operation. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) will be responsible for facilitating the transfer of land following the completion of the survey. In addition, Raiden has requested the state government's approval for all of Raiden's partners on record with the state government to receive the benefits previously committed to the Andhra Pradesh administration. This project will position Andhra Pradesh as a critical emerging centre for large-scale (hyperscale) data centres and data centres reliant on digital infrastructure powered by artificial intelligence in India.
