Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, announced a major initiative to enhance work-from-home (WFH) opportunities in the state, focusing on empowering women professionals. The announcement on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science underscores the state's commitment to improving gender inclusivity and work-life balance, particularly for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he celebrated the contributions of women and girls in STEM. He reaffirmed the government's dedication to providing equal access to growth opportunities in these sectors.

He highlighted that the Covid-19 pandemic had significantly reshaped the work environment, with remote work gaining traction. He emphasised that flexible work options, such as remote work, coworking spaces (CWS), and Neighbourhood Workspaces (NWS), provide businesses and employees with new avenues to foster productive, adaptable work environments. These changes offer women professionals a better work-life balance, which is crucial for their career progression. He also outlined the Andhra Pradesh Information Technology (IT) and Global Capability Centres (GCC) Policy 4.0, aimed at transforming the state's IT and GCC ecosystem. This policy seeks to create IT office spaces across cities, towns, and mandals, providing infrastructure that supports modern work practices. Incentivising developers to build state-of-the-art office spaces is expected to generate local employment, particularly benefiting women in rural and semi-urban areas. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would boost workforce participation through flexible remote or hybrid work options, especially among women.
