Approximately 5.81 million farmers have been benefitted in current Kharif season: Centre

The Food and Public Distribution Ministry informed that in the current Kharif marketing season in 2022-23, around 5.81 million farmers have been benefitted with Minimum Support Price (MSP) value of US$ 12.26 billion (Rs. 1,01,475 crores).
In Kharif marketing season 2022-23, approximately 492.6 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of paddy have been procured till December 26 in various states.
From March 24, 2020, to December 26, 2022, a total of 47,621 rakes of food grains have been loaded with a quantity of around 1,333 LMT, which is 18% more than the number of rakes moved during March 24, 2019- December 26, 2021.
