Arogya World today recognised 14 companies as "Healthy Workplaces for 2020" across India, taking the total number of healthy workplaces recognised by Arogya World to 145, with a total workforce of approximately 3.1 million.
The organisations were praised for their contribution to employee health contributing to the prevention of NCD (Non-Communicable Diseases), which is essential to improving efficiency in the workforce. This helps to create a prosperous company and to drive India towards economic growth.
India is experiencing rapid economic growth and working-age people (15 to 64 years of age) form a significant percentage of the population, according to the Lancet Study. In India, full-time employment for employees (46%) is higher than the global average (34%).
The government's Make in India initiatives are aimed at transforming India into a global design and manufacturing centre that creates more jobs and a larger workforce. This must be followed by an increased focus on healing at work. This has to be followed by an increased emphasis on health in the workplace as it is key to the economic progress of India.
On November 4, 2020, at Arogya World's Annual Safe Workplace Conference and Awards ceremony, the leading private sector companies recognised by Arogya World, spanning healthcare, IT, manufacturing, media, ports, consumer goods and real estate, will be recognised as Healthy Workplaces before their peers and thought leaders.
