Mr. Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, claimed on Sunday that about 17 lakh visitors visited the Indian Pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2020. "People have gathered in huge numbers to witness India Pavilion at Dubai Expo. People are excited to watch Indian exhibitions including Yoga, Ayurveda, tourism, textile, cosmic world, and cinema world. Around 17 lakh people have visited India Pavilion," He added.
He had previously launched TEJAS (Training for Emirates Jobs and Skills), a Skill India International effort to teach Indians living in other countries. The programme aims to improve Indians' skills, certification, and abroad career opportunities. According to a press release from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, TEJAS is aimed at developing routes for the Indian workforce to become equipped for skill and market requirements in the UAE. He stated that the country's priority is to educate its people and supply a huge skilled workforce to the rest of the world. He reaffirmed Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's goal for a robust India-UAE alliance. During the initial phase, Tejas intends to employ 10,000 Indians in the UAE.
The six-month-long Dubai Expo, which began in October of last year, drew 192 countries from all over the world. This exhibition, which will run till March 31, 2022, will feature fifteen Indian states and nine national ministries.
