Ashok Leyland partners with Rosmerta Recycling to strengthen commercial vehicle scrappage ecosystem

Commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland has partnered with Rosmerta Recycling to strengthen India's organised vehicle scrappage ecosystem and accelerate the replacement of ageing commercial vehicles with cleaner and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Through its nationwide dealer network, Ashok Leyland will provide customers with seamless access to Rosmerta Recycling's Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs), offering end-to-end support for vehicle scrapping, including deregistration and statutory documentation. The initiative aligns with the Government of India's voluntary Vehicle Scrappage Policy and complements the recently launched Naya Safar Scheme aimed at reducing transport-related emissions in the Delhi-NCR region. The partnership is expected to simplify responsible vehicle disposal while encouraging fleet modernisation and promoting environmentally sustainable transport solutions across the country.

Rosmerta Recycling operates authorised scrappage facilities across India, enabling the safe, compliant and environmentally responsible dismantling of end-of-life vehicles while maximising material recovery and supporting the circular economy. Customers are expected to benefit from competitive value for their old vehicles, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) discounts on the purchase of new commercial vehicles, and applicable waivers on road tax and registration fees under government policies. The collaboration is also expected to support the government's commercial vehicle replacement initiatives by accelerating organised scrappage, reducing vehicular emissions and improving road safety. By integrating authorised recycling infrastructure with Ashok Leyland's extensive dealer network, the partnership is set to strengthen sustainable mobility, resource efficiency and the transition towards a cleaner and more modern commercial transport ecosystem in India.
