Automobile exports from India surged by 19% to over 5.3 million units in the FY25, driven by strong demand for passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles in international markets. Total exports in FY25 reached 5.4 million (53,63,089) units, a notable increase from 4.5 million (45,00,494) units in FY24. As manufacturing quality continues to improve, some companies have also begun exporting to developed markets.

Two-wheeler exports saw a robust growth of 21%, reaching 4,198,403 units, up from 3,458,416 units in FY24. New models and entry into new markets, particularly in Africa and Latin America, contributed significantly to this growth. Three-wheeler exports grew by 2% to 3,10,000 units, while commercial vehicle exports rose by 23%, reaching 80,986 units. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the demand for "Made in India" vehicles continues to rise in key markets, such as Africa and neighbouring regions. SIAM President, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, noted that the recovery across all segments, especially passenger vehicles and two-wheelers, reflects improved global demand and India’s growing competitivess
