Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council trains more 1.30 lakh students as yoga instructors, trainers under Skill India Mission

The Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC), operating under the purview of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), hosted an event to commemorate the 8th International Yoga Day in an effort to promote yoga for comprehensive well-being. ‘Say Yes to Yog and No to Rog’ was the event's slogan, and it was followed by a first-of-its-kind Convocation Ceremony for graduates of B&WSSC's short-term training programmes offered in accordance with the Skill India Mission.

According to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, yoga has become one of the most significant global popular movements in recent years, and the peace it brings to people also benefits our entire society.

The states with the greatest number of proficient yoga students, according to B&WSSC, are Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, Kerala, and West Bengal. The sector skill council also has vocational education courses in yoga for CBSE schools starting from classes XI & XII. Over 1.30 lakh students have been trained as yoga instructors and trainers across the country in the last eight years.
