Budget 2024: Interim budget to strengthen developed India, says Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi

Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi hailed the FY25 interim budget as "inclusive and innovative," asserting its commitment to fortifying India's development foundations by 2047. In a post-budget video message, he highlighted the budget's emphasis on empowering the youth, people experiencing poverty, women, and farmers, whom he identified as the four essential pillars of a developed India. Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi praised the budget's forward-looking measures, such as creating a US$ 12.1 billion (Rs.1 trillion) research and innovation fund and extending tax exemptions for startups, characterizing it as a reflection of the aspirations of Young India.

Furthermore, the prime minister commended the budget's prudent fiscal management, with total capital expenditure exceeding US$ 132.6 billion (Rs. 11 trillion), foreseeing the creation of millions of new job opportunities and the development of modern infrastructure aligned with 21st-century India. He pointed out significant announcements, such as manufacturing 40,000 'Vande Bharat' standard bogies for general passenger trains, contributing to an enhanced travel experience. Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi also underscored the budget's agricultural focus, citing initiatives like the use of Nano DAP fertilizer, support for dairy farmers, PM Matsya Sampada Yojana expansion, and the 'Atma Nirbhar oil seed campaign' to boost farmer income and reduce expenses. Overall, the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi highlighted the government's commitment to empowering the poor and middle class, with initiatives like the proposed rooftop solar scheme expected to benefit 10 million households.
