Carrier Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Limited has announced plans for a high-tech air-conditioning manufacturing facility in Sri City in Andhra Pradesh, which will be backed by a Rs. 1,000 crore (US$ 110 million) investment. The 39-acre facility is expected to generate 3,000 jobs, consisting of 1,000 direct and 2,000 indirect employment opportunities. This will add to the already growing HVAC manufacturing industry in the region. The manufacturing facility will focus on green technology in air-conditioning systems that are energy-efficient to cater to the rising demand for high-tech cooling solutions in India and across the world.
The investment in Andhra Pradesh is in line with Carrier's long-term growth strategy in India and will complement Carrier's existing manufacturing facility in Haryana. The proposed facility will be a green manufacturing facility that will increase production capacity for domestic and export markets. This investment is seen as a reflection of Sri City's emergence as a high-end manufacturing destination with robust infrastructure and efficient approvals. This synergy between government agencies and industry leaders reflects the commitment of the state towards creating an environment that attracts high-value investments and promotes sustainable growth. This aligns with Andhra Pradesh's vision for itself as a high-growth air-conditioning manufacturing hub in India.
