Centre releases revenue deficit grant of Rs. 7,183 crore (US$ 899.82 million) to 14 states

On September 6, 2022, the Ministry of Finance released the sixth monthly instalment of the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) grant to 14 states, totalling Rs. 7,183.42 crore (US$ 899.82 million). According to the 15th Finance Commission's recommendations, the grant has been released.

The Department of Expenditure disbursed the approved grant in 12 equal monthly instalments. The overall grant amount made available to the states in 2022-2023 reached to Rs. 43,100.50 crore (US$ 5.4 billion) with the distribution of the sixth instalment for September.

Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal are the states that have been suggested for FY 2022-23.
