Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr. Piyush Goyal reviews progress of PM GatiShakti

PM GatiShakti has already begun to expedite a number of infrastructure projects around the country, with certain states using it to improve the execution of social sector initiatives. Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles, Mr. Piyush Goyal, presided over a review meeting of the PM GatiShakti.

The meeting discussed the progress made thus far and included top officials from M/o Railways, MoRTH, MoPSW, D/o Food & PDS, M/o Coal, M/o Steel, D/o Fertilizers, DoT, M/o Rural Development, and BISAG-N. ( Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics). The group evaluated the National Master Plan's progress since its introduction on October 13, 2021, and discussed goals for speedier data integration into the portal. The conference took notice of various Ministries/Departments using the same to discuss their planned projects after being mapped and aligned digitally, with over 900 data layers updated by Central Ministries and 316 important layers by States/UTs.

The gathering also recognised the advancements made in state-level institutional structures. Secretary, DPIIT Mr. Anurag Jain, stated that, in addition to a working Empowered Group of Secretaries in 32 States/UTs, 29 of them have also been able to create their Network Planning Group and Technical Support Unit.
