The Commerce Ministry, during a meeting called by the ministry with the industry and exporters, on July 3, 2023 advised exporters to concentrate on potential key sectors like food, electronics, and engineering as well as 12 major markets to boost exports.
As per a government official, it was also urged to concentrate on planning fairs and exhibitions on a worldwide scale. Moreover, emphasis was also given to both trade and investments. Increasing investments will help in promoting trade through integration with global value chains.
Food, textiles, engineering, electricals and electronics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and auto components are the six sectors with the most potential to boost the nation's exports. The US, UK, Brazil, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, and Russia are the main global destinations where exports could be further promoted.
