The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has unveiled a plan to position India as a global logistics hub, calling for a collaborative effort among stakeholders to unlock opportunities across industries and regions. The initiative aims to create aspirational career paths, facilitate professional growth, and develop leadership opportunities. As India strengthens its role in global logistics, the initiative seeks to leverage its unique strengths to generate employment, attract investments, and drive economic expansion.

India’s logistics sector is driven by the rapid growth of e-commerce, manufacturing, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with the country emerging as a hub for global enterprises seeking efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and innovation. The sector is expected to generate 15 million to 17 million jobs by 2030. CII highlighted India’s well-developed logistics infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient supply chain management. A skilled workforce at all levels further enhances the sector’s adaptability. The nation's startup ecosystem fosters innovation in logistics solutions, supported by a strong education system that encourages early industry engagement. Chairman of the CII-Institute of Logistics Advisory Council, Mr. R Dinesh, emphasised that the ‘Logistics for All’ initiative will offer career growth, job satisfaction, and leadership opportunities in the evolving human-machine collaboration. The CII-Institute of Logistics serves as a platform to bring together policymakers, logistics service providers, user industries, academia, and training centres to drive India’s transformation into a global logistics powerhouse collectively.
