President of India, Ms. Droupadi Murmu, on Wednesday, emphasised the corporate sector as a vital pillar of India’s economic growth and development while addressing officer trainees of the Indian Corporate Law Service at Rashtrapati Bhavan. She highlighted their crucial role in shaping policies and regulations, which influence public and investor trust in the nation’s institutions. Referring to the Companies Act of 2013, she stressed the importance of not only enforcing corporate laws but ensuring they are understood and applied fairly to promote justice, transparency, and an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship.
Addressing trainees of the Defence Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service and Central Labour Service, she underlined the significance of maintaining stringent quality and airworthiness standards in military aviation for operational safety and strategic superiority. She called for greater integration of private enterprises in the defence sector through supportive policies and technology transfer to advance indigenisation and establish India as a global defence manufacturing hub. She also urged labour service probationers to uphold compliance with labour laws protecting workers’ rights and dignity, advocating for fairness, empathy, and a spirit of humility in public service. Concluding, she inspired the trainees to embrace their responsibilities as agents of good governance and meaningful change, contributing to the vision of a developed India.
