The defence chiefs of US-Staff General Mr. Mark A Miley and India-General Mr. Anil Chauhan discussed the ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and interoperability and shared their assessments of the regional and global security environment, to deepen US-India military ties.
Mr. Joseph R., Joint Staff Deputy Spokesperson said that US and India have a strong military-to-military relationship under the US-India Major Defence Partnership and India plays a key role in maintaining a free Indo-Pacific.
China is growing and moving its military in the resource-rich and strategically important region, in the backdrop of which the US, India and other world powers have been ensuring a free, open and thriving Indo-Pacific. Beijing built artificial islands and military installations in the South China Sea. US, Australia, India and Japan had given rise to the proposal of setting up the Quad to develop a new strategy to keep the critical sea routes in the Indo-Pacific region, free of any influence.
