Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh exhorts Indian diaspora in Germany to continue contributing to stronger bilateral ties while staying rooted in their own heritage

Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh interacted with the Indian diaspora in Berlin during his official visit to Germany, highlighting their critical role in strengthening bilateral relations. The statement described nearly 300,000-strong Indian community as a vital bridge connecting the two nations, with contributions spanning business, technology, healthcare, academia and the arts. Emphasising India’s growing global influence under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, the statement noted that India’s voice is now heard and respected across international forums. Further in the statement, it emphasised that the diaspora should actively promote India’s perspective globally and further deepen economic and strategic ties between the two countries.

Marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Germany in 2026, the statement also underscored the foundation of trust, shared democratic values and mutual respect that define the partnership. Additionally, the statement noted that the government remains committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of Indians living abroad while urging them to stay rooted in their cultural heritage. Moreover, the statement outlined that India’s rapid economic growth and technological advancements are reflected in progress across infrastructure, start-ups, space and digital innovation. In continuation, the statement added that the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities and reduce import dependence. The statement went on to note that the interaction reflects the deepening India-Germany partnership and the diaspora’s growing influence in shaping global engagement.
