According to an analysis by consulting firm Knight Frank, Delhi has emerged as the leading Asian hub for private aviation in 2021.

Globally, private aviation witnessed a growth of 47% with 3,320,471 charter flights recorded in 2021 compared to 2,258,407 in 2020. When compared to 2019, the rise was 7%. In terms of overall charter flight volume, New York topped the chart globally in 2021. The top Asian hub for charter flights, New Delhi was ranked at the 321st spot.

Due to strong Covid travel restrictions that were restored during the winter wave of early 2021, the major metro hubs only saw a moderate recovery, losing a significant portion of their pre-pandemic activity. Business jet traffic decreased by 26% and 16%, respectively in London and New York airports compared with pre-pandemic 2019.
